Women's Tennis Shuts Out West Liberty

CANTON, Ohio - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team got back to the courts after more than a week away with a 9-0 win against West Liberty on Thursday morning in Canton, Ohio.

The pairs of Leah Dancz and Allison Fecko, and Morgan Carney and Niki Shipman, picked up 8-0 wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles spots, respectively. Lexi Rice and Katelyn Schaffer also won their match, 8-4, in the No. 1 position.

Shipman grabbed a 6-3, 6-3, victory in the top spot, while Carney picked up a 7-5, 6-2, win in the No. 4 position. Dancz defeated Raissa Wischi, 6-3, 6-2, in No. 2 singles. Rice along with Claire Cooper and Kali Phillips shut out their opponents, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively.

Grand Valley State faces off with Indiana (PA) on Friday in Canton, Ohio at 9 a.m.
