The Lakers made quick work of Calvin College in a dual match on Wednesday, Feb. 28, winning by a 9-0 count. GVSU swept the Knights in all singles and doubles matchups and improved their record to 13-3 on the year. Grand Valley will not be in action again until their spring break trip next week in Orlando, Fla.
In doubles action, the team of Audrey Koopsen and McCall Monte improved their season record to 16-4 with an 8-2 win. The team of Jaime Oppenlander and Jenna Killips also recorded a victory over their opponents in the No. 3 slot. Oppenlander and Killips improved their record to 14-6 on the season. Emily Zellner and Lindsay Grimmer also picked up a victory in the top doubles slot.
Singles action was much of the same as all Lakers were able to win in straight sets. Sophomore Audrey Koopsen improved her winning streak to six matches with a 7-5, 6-2 victory. Junior Jenna Killips found the win column for the fourth time in a row with a 6-3, 6-3 win in the No. 2 singles slot. Whitney Bindus, Lindsay Grimmer, McCall Monte and Emily Zellner also picked up victories for GVSU.
