The Grand Valley State women's tennis team downed Hope College by a 9-0 count in Holland on Thursday. All of the Laker wins came in straight sets. The win gets the Lakers to 12-2 on the season. The Lakers will play in a dual match against DePauw on Saturday, Feb. 24.
In doubles action, Lindsay Grimmer and Emily Zellner won, 8-4, in the No. 1 slot. Audrey Koopsen and McCall Monte won by an 8-2 count, while the team of Jenna Killips and Jaime Oppenlander defeated their opponents 8-5.
Singles proved to be much of the same, as GVSU rolled in all six matchups. Jenna Killips made quick work of her opponent in the No. 2 singles slot with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Emily Zellner won by a 6-1, 6-0 score. Whitney Bindus rounded out the singles victories with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the No. 6 spot.
