Women's Swimming Stands in Sixth After Day One of the Wheaton Invitational

The women's swimming and diving team stand in sixth place after the first round of the Wheaton Invitational. The Lakers recorded 227 points on Friday, and will conclude the invitational Saturday night.

Freshman Alison VanKampen finished second in the 100-yard breastroke and third in the 200-yard IM for the Lakers. Sophomore Jenna Thayer followed VanKampen in the 200-yard IM, finishing sixth. Thayer also posted a fourth place finish in the 200-yard butterfly clocking a 2:11.67. Thayer and VanKampen helped lead the 400-yard medley relay, along with sophomore Danielle Buglio and freshman Melissa Faletti to a second place finish. Danielle Buglio added a fourth place finish in the 200-yard backstroke.
