Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State head men's and women's swimming & diving coach Andy Boyce announced the Lakers' 2009 recruiting class. Boyce added seven women and two men for the 2010-11 campaign. GVSU is coming off ninth-place finishes for both the men's and women's programs at the 2009 NCAA DII Swimming & Diving Championships.

Adina Bohr (Novi, Mich./Walled Lake Western), Marissa Doepker (Farmington Hills, Mich./Harrison), Jenna Faletti (South Lyon, Mich.), Amy Myers (Woodville, Ohio/Eastwood), Marissa Orr (Grandville, Mich.), Kelsey Reid (Davison, Mich.) and Kelsey Vermeer (Rockford, Mich.) signed to swimm for the Laker women, while Derek Mead (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Eastern) and Kurt VonEhr (Ada, Mich./Forest Hills Central) inked to swim with the men's program.

"We feel this is an outstanding recruiting class and we were able to meet our needs for both programs," said Boyce.
