Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State swept the GLIAC honors for Men's and Women's Swimmer of the Week as Evan Betts captured the honor on the men's side and Allison Scholz was the recipient for the women.
Sophomore Evan Betts recorded NCAA "A" cuts en route to capturing a pair of first-place finishes versus Calvin. Betts recorded a score of 282.55 on the 1-meter board and 291.15 on the 3-meter board. Betts then produced a school-record score of 307.10 on the 1-meter board Saturday at Indianapolis, followed by a first-place finish on the 3-meter board (250.65).
Grand Valley State sophomore Allison Scholz recorded a first-place finish in the 50-yard free (25.37), and swam splits of 24.26 in the 200-yard medley relay and 25.21 in the 200-yard free relay as a leadoff swimmer vs. Calvin. Scholz then recorded second-place finishes in the 50-yard free (24.99) and 100-yard free (54.38), and a 100-yard free split of 54.06 in the 400-yard medley relay at Indianapolis.
