Lakers Stand in Third at University of Indianapolis Invitational
 

 
 
 

 
Jenna Thayer posted three third place finishes in the first day of events

After the first round of events, the women's Swimming and Diving team recorded 288.5 points to stand behind the University of Missouri Rolla and the University of Indianapolis.

Sophomore Jenna Thayer contributed to the Lakers performance, recording three second place finishes. Thayer finished second in the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 57.85. She also contributed to the second place finish of the 400-yard Medley Relay with sophomore Danielle Buglio, freshman Alison VanKampen and freshman Allison Scholz. The team finished the relay in 4:08.53. Thayer and Scholz teamed up with Melissa Faletti and Sam Stump to earn a second place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay.

Alison VanKampen also added a second place finish in the 100-yard Butterfly to add to the Lakers standing. Katie Lawrie posted a 18:27.63 in the 1650-tard freestyle to finish second. The Lakers will continue the contest tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
