Wheaton, Ill. - The Grand Valley State women's swimming & diving team captured top honors at the Wheaton Invitational with a team score of 951 points. Wheaton finished a distant second with 630 points.

The Lakers claimed three first-place finishes on day two. The 200 medley relay team of Danielle Buglio, Lauren Dorsey, Alison VanKampen and Kim Baughman touched first in a time of 1:48.19. Freshman Toni Musto finished first in the 200 breast and met the DII automatic mark with a time of 2:16.60. Jenna Thayer touched first in the 100 fly (57.57), followed by Alison VanKampen (58.64) and Ally Nagel (59.54). Lauren Dorsey was second in the 200 breast (2:23.37) and Kim Baughman finished third in the 50 free (24.58). The Lakers' 400 medley relay tema finished second (4:43.83).
