Wheaton, Ill. - The Laker Women's Swimming and Diving team placed 2nd at The Wheaton Invitational, earning a total of 555.5 points. They finished behind University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (902) and just ahead of host Wheaton College (538).
The 200 yard Freestyle Relay Team of Sophomores Ally Nagel, Sam Stump, and Allison Schulz and Junior Jenna Thayer placed 3rd in their event with a time of 1:39.06. While the 800 yard Freestyle Relay Team of Freshmen Erin Kinney and Erin Lynch with Sophomores Stump and Alison VanKampen finished fourth in their event with a time of 7:56.14. Thayer, Schulz and VanKampen then teamed up with Junior Danielle Buglio to place 2nd in the 200 yard Medley Relay (1:49.32) and the 400 yard Medley Relay (3:58.16).
Leading the way for the women's individual performances was Thayer who finished first in the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 58.51. Thayer also placed second in the 200 yard Butterfly (2:07.50) and third in the 200 yard IM (2:09.11). VanKampen also did well in the 200 yard IM, placing fourth with a time of 2:09.95.
