Grand Rapids, Mich. - Grand Valley State claimed a pair wins at the Calvin College Triangular Saturday. GVSU defeated Calvin (163-134) and Wheaton (189-90) to improve to 3-0 on the year. The Lakers will next compete at the Doug Coers Invite Nov. 16-17 at Ball State.
In the freestyle events, Katie Lawrie picked up a win in the 1000 free (10:56.93), while Megan Hahler was second (11:09.75). Alison Scholz was second in the 50 free (25.00) and third in the 100 free (55.17), while Erin Kinney was second in the 200 free (1:59.13). Lawrie added a second-place finish in the 500 free (5:18.82), while Kinney was third (5:22.85).
Danielle Bugilo turned in a first-place finish in the 100 back (1:01.17) and a second-place swim in the 200 back (2:12.36). Liz Rogers tallied third-place finishes in the 100 back (1:02.43) and 200 back (2:14.21). Jenna Thayer also recorded first-place finishes in the 100 (58.50) and 200 fly (2:09.59), while Ashley Berish was third in the 200 fly (2:15.24) and Erin Lynch a third in the 100 fly (1:02.51). Sam Stump recorded third-place finishes in the 100 (1:09.75) and 200 breaststroke (2:31.67). Thayer recorded a first-place finish in the 200 IM (2:10.04)
