Ashland, Ohio - Grand Valley State turned in an outstanding final day at the 2007 GLIAC Swimming & Diving Championships and finished second with 601 team points. Alison VanKampen highlighted the day with a GLIAC Championship in the 200 breaststroke. Wayne State claimed its second straight GLIAC title with 739.50 points. GVSU's second-place finish was its fourth runner-up finish in the last five years.
The Lakers started the final day strong as Jennifer Hillson and Raelyn Prelewitz finished second and third, respectively, on the 3-meter diving board. Hillson tallied a championship total of 378.10, while Prelewitz tallied a score of 368.90. Katie Lawrie finished fourth in the 1000 freestyle (10:41.99) and Megan Hahler tallied an eighth-place finish (10:50.51). Eli Leskovar added a 15th-place finish (11:04.91) as GVSU score 28 team points in the event.
Danielle Buglio finished third in the 200 backstroke with an NCAA B cut time of 2:08.57. Eli Frans finished 10th in the 200 back (2:12.67), while Liz Rodgers touched in 14th place (2:16.05). Allison Scholz finished 10th in the 100 freestyle (54.84), followed by Melissa Faletti in 13th (55.20) and EB Phillips in 15th (55.97).

VanKampen kept the Laker momentum rolling with a GLIAC Championship performance in the 200 breaststroke. VanKampen touched in 2:24.70 which met the NCAA B standard. Sam Stump added a seventh-place finish (2:29.77) in the 200 breast. Jenna Thayer continued her outstanding championship with a third-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:11.12). In addition, her time met the NCAA B standard. The Laker 400 free relay team of VanKampen, Stump, Scholz and Thayer finished third, touching in a time of 3:36.01.
