Ashland, Ohio - The Grand Valley State women's swimming & diving team tallied a team score of 69 points in two events on day one of the 2007 GLIAC Swimming & Diving Championships in Ashland, Ohio. Wayne State leads the way with 76, followed by GVSU. The 2007 Championship will continue through Saturday on the campus of Ashland University.

The Lakers started the day in fine fashion with the 200 medley relay. The team of Danille Buglio, Sam Stump, Jenna Thayer and Allison Scholz met the automatic qualifying mark for the NCAA Championships with a prelim time of 1:47.34. In addition, that mark set a GVSU varsity record and an Ashland University pool record. GVSU finished second in the finals with a time of 1:48.46.

Grand Valley State followed with 35 team points in the 1650 freestyle. Katie Lawrie finished third (17:54.70), followed by Megan Hahler in sixth (18:11.18), Kelli Anguilm in 12th (18:32.97) and Nina Reynolds in 16th (18:51.39).
