Seven Laker softball student-athletes were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete Team. Grand Valley State finished with a 36-8 overall record, making its sixth straight NCAA Great Lakes Regional appearance.

Senior third baseman Lindsay Crawford, senior pitcher Jennifer Mackson, sophomore infielder Denise Ireton, senior second baseman Jennifer Goldschmeding, sophomore catcher Megan Smith, sophomore outfielder Miranda Titler, and senior first baseman Sara Vroegindewey all earned Scholar-Athlete honors for their performances in the classroom last year.
