Grand Valley State's Jennifer Mackson earned NFCA DII Second Team All-American plaudits for her outstanding play during the 2003 season. Last season, Mackson was an NFCA First Team All-American.

Mackson helped the Lakers to a 49-6 overall record and a 17-1 GLIAC record. The Lakers captured the GLIAC regular season and tournament title. GVSU fell to Wayne State, 1-0, in the NCAA DII Regional Championship game.

Jennifer tallied a 28-4 record, a .60 ERA, and nine saves this season. Her nine saves set the GVSU record for saves in a season and it is the third highest total in NCAA DII history. Jennifer's ERA is the second lowest single-season mark in GVSU history and her win total is second behind her 30 wins from a year ago. Mackson also tied the Laker record with 17 complete game shutouts, which she also set last season.

In 222.1 innings, Mackson allowed only 105 hits and 19 earned runs, while recording 302 strikeouts. Mackson broke GVSU's career strikeout record this season as well. The previous record of 476 was held by Amber Castonguay (99-02). Jennifer now has 871 strikeouts in her three seasons for the Lakers.
