Midland, Mich. - In the opening set of games being played at the GLIAC Tournament on Friday (May 7), Grand Valley State and Ashland were tied at 3-3 before rain postponed play for the rest of the day. The teams began play at 10:00 a.m., but the weather forced a postponement in the top of the fifth inning, as the two teams were playing in the opening game of the tournament. Play is scheduled to re-start on Saturday morning (May 8), if the weather cooperates.
The Lakers and Eagles were playing in the opening game, as Saginaw Valley State led Northwood, 4-0, in the fourth inning on the second field. Rain looks to be in the forecast for Saturday, as there is no definite word when the fields will be playable. Stay tuned to gvsulakers.com for more information throughout the weekend.
