Grand Valley State dropped a 10-0 decision in five innings to Northern Kentucky Friday in the second round of the Great Lakes Region Tournament. GVSU falls to 35-20 overall and will play Gannon at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday.

Northern Kentucky started off the game scoring four runs off of five hits in the first inning and never looked back. The Norse added three runs in the second inning, two in the third, and one in the fifth to capture the 10-0 five inning win. NKU outhit the Lakers by a 14-6 margin.

Freshman Lori Andjelich (16-11) suffered the loss as she started the game and pitched just one complete inning. She allowed seven hits, six runs, and two walks. Sophomore Stephanie Cole threw 3.2 innings, giving up seven hits, four runs, and two walks, while junior Allison Crews got the final out for GVSU.

Senior Denise Ireton led the Lakers going 2-for-3.
