Final Stats

Grand Valley State remains alive in the NCAA DII Great Lakes Regional Tournament as they defeated Ashland University, 2-0. The Lakers are set to face Wayne State in a rematch of the first game of the tournament at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

GVSU was led by Rachel Blain as she hit a solo homerun in the third inning to give the Lakers a 1-0 led. In the sixth, Tara Marsh hit a one out single and showed her speed as she scored on a single by Jennifer Goldschmeding.

The two runs was enough for Mackson, as she pitched a three hitter, and recorded seven strikeouts. Mackson improves to 27-3 on the season and the Lakers are now 48-5 overall.
