Grand Valley State defeated Wayne State, 2-0, in the first of two championship games. Since both teams have a loss, they will play another game at 3:30 Saturday to determine who is the NCAA DII Regional Champion. The winner will advance to the NCAA DII National Championships in Salem, Washington.

The game was pretty evenly matched until the fifth inning when SS Kerri Jonas hit a two-run homerun over the rightfield fence. Jonas knocked in Marsh who had two of the Lakers six hits in the game.

Jennifer Mackson pitched her second complete game of the day and improves to 28-3 on the season. She allowed only two hits and struck out four.
