Grand Valley State fell to Wayne State, 2-0, in their second game of the NCAA DII Great Lakes Regional Tournament. The Lakers are now 47-5 overall.

Grand Valley fell behind early as the Warriors hit the first pitch of the game over the left field fence. Wayne State scored again in the sixth inning, but it was enough to hold on to the victory. GVSU only tallied two hits in the game, one by junior 2B Jennifer Goldschmeding and the other by senior SS Kerri Jonas.

Junior Jen Mackson pitched all seven innings, allowing four hits, while striking out five. Mackson falls to 26-3 on the year.

The Lakers will play Ashland University at 10 a.m. Saturday.
