Grand Valley State dropped a 4-1 decision to Saginaw Valley State in the GLIAC Tournament to end their season with a 24-20 overall record.

Saginaw Valley scored three runs on four hits and a Laker error in the top of the first to take the early lead. GVSU got one run back in the bottom of the first as junior center fielder Tara Marsh led off the inning with a bunt single. She advanced to second on a one out walk by sophomore first baseman Crista Buresh and scored on a single down the left field line by junior third baseman Denise Ireton.

SVSU scored one more run in the top of the second inning and held the Lakers scoreless the rest of the game to seal the 4-1 victory.

Marsh tallied three of the Lakers six hits. Freshman Stephanie Cole pitched all seven innings, allowing seven hits, three earned runs, and three walks.
