GVSU defeated Dominican University, 6-0, as they continue their spring trip at the Gene Cusic Classic in Ft. Myers, Florida. The Lakers improve to 3-1 on the season.
Nadira Saafir pitched five innings for GV, allowing only one hit, while striking out four. Freshman Kristin Jenner pitched the final two innings, facing seven batters and striking out six.
Left fielder Erin Ballinger went 2-for-2, with two runs batted in and two stolen bases. 3B Lindsay Crawford was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. Freshmen Megan Smith and Shelby Brayton batted in the other Laker runs.
Grand Valley will continue its spring trip Sunday, March 2 with games against St. Anselm at 9:00 a.m. and Regis College at 11:00 a.m.
