The Lakers fell, 2-0, in game two of a doubleheader with Florida Gulf Coast. Grand Valley outhit FGCU, but left eight runners on base.
GVSU was led by 2B Jen Goldschmeding who went 2-for-3 and SS Kerri Jonas who was 2-for-2. 3B Lindsay Crawford also went 2-for-4.
Nadira Saafir pitched five innings, gaving up six hits and two runs. Freshman Kristin Jenner pitched one inning and recorded one strikeout.
Grand Valley will play Salem University at 9 a.m. and Dominican University at 11 a.m. on Saturady.
