GVSU Wins Regional

After an exciting win over University of Missouri-St. Louis in the NCAA tournament, the #9 Lakers will move on to the NCAA Super Regional to face #1 Indianapolis.

2012: Named to the All-GLIAC Second Team, the first all-league honors of he career...Also named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team...Finished tied for second on the team in doubles (11), third in hit by pitches (two), fourth in RBI (36), and fifth in runs (35)...Hit .289 with 48 hits, a triple, and five home runs...Recorded 11 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI contests, including four games of at least three RBI...Owned a 10-game hitting streak from Apr. 4 to Apr. 14, the fourth-longest stretch on the team...Notched a 4-for-5 outing with three home runs (one in game one, two in game two), four runs scored, and eight RBI (four ribbies in each game) in doubleheader sweep at Northwood (3/28)...Tallied 22 RBI in 10-game stretch from Mar. 20 to Mar. 31, which included eight games of at least two RBI...Went 5-for-7 with a double, a run, and two RBI in doubleheader at Northwood (4/10), including a season-high three hits in game two...Scored two runs in four straight games against Findlay and Northwood (3/25-28).

2011: Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team...Finished second on the team in doubles (17), tied for second in triples (three), third in slugging percentage (.658) and total bases (96), and fifth in batting average (.377)...Ranked tied for third in GLIAC in doubles, eighth in slugging percentage and total bases...Recorded 17 multi-hit games (including six multi-hit contests), which was second-most on the team, and seven games of at least two RBI...Her 17 doubles tied for third-most in a single season in Laker history...Went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI in 11-3 victory over Urbana (3/8)...Notched a 4-for-5 performance with a double against Wayne State in the GLIAC Tournament (5/7)...Opened season with hits in seven straight games and eight of first nine contests, totaling 16 hits and 10 RBI as Lakers went 6-3 during that stretch.

2010: Appeared in 30 games and made seven starts, while making several appearances as a pinch hitter...Hit .222 with 10 hits and eight RBI...One of just five players on the team to tally at least one double, triple, and homerun on the year...Notched a 3-for-4 performance with four RBI in a tough 6-5 loss at Findlay (4/11)...Smashed a two-run, pinch-hit homer against Hillsdale (4/10), capping a 2-for-2 day as a pinch-hitter with a double, homerun, and three RBI against the Chargers...Totaled a five-game hit streak from April 3-11 with eight RBI and seven hits.

High School: Prepped at Lapeer West High School under head coach Brad Walker...As a senior, hit .564 with 38 RBI and a .822 slugging percentage, while throwing out 16 of 20 baserunners, which followed a junior year in which she hit .479 with 41 RBI and a .704 slugging percentage...Earned All-Flint Metro League honors three times, including being named First Team All-Flint Metro League and First Team all-state...Tabbed all-state honorable mention as a junior...Won two Flint Metro League championships, including an undefeated conference title during her senior season...Also won a pair of district championships and a regional title at Lapeer West...Played four years of basketball and was named all-conference honorable mention as a senior, played volleyball for the seasons, and competed in swimming for one year...Participated in National Honors Society.
