Grand Valley State’s Natalja Stanski was honored at the NCAA Championship banquet Wednesday, Dec. 2 in Tampa, Fla. with the Elite 88 award. The Elite 88 is an award where the NCAA recognizes the student-athlete with the highest grade-point average, who is participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 88 championships. This is a student-athlete from each division and each sport that reaches the finals and also achieves the highest academic standard.
The senior defender is a Biomedical Science major with a GPA of a 4.0. She also received ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American of the Year and was also selected to the College Division Academic All-American First Team. Stanski finished her GVSU career with a National Championship and an astounding record of 84-4-6 (.926), becoming the most successful senior class in the program’s history.
