The Grand Valley State Women's Soccer Team placed four players onto the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Great Lakes Region Team. Senior Mirela Tutundzic (Wyoming, Mich./Rogers), senior Jenny Swalec (St. Clair Shores, Mich./South Lake), and freshman Katy Tafler (Mississauga, Ont./Cawthra Park) all earned first team honors. Junior Shannon Carrier (Plainwell, Mich.) was named to the second team.

Tutundzic finished her career tied for 18th place on the Division II all-time points scored list with 184. Tutundzic holds the school record for career goals scored (75), assists (34), and total points (184).

Swalec is a four-time All-GLIAC selection and this marks her first time named to the All-Great Lakes Region team. Swalec ranks second in Laker history in goals scored (37), total points (100), and third in assists (26).

Tafler led the Lakers in scoring with a school-best 25 goals on the season along with eight assists. Tafler's 58 points tied the school single-season record. Tafler was named the GLIAC Freshman of the Year for her performance.

Carrier was named to her second consecutive All-Great Lakes Region Team, scoring four goals on the year including the game-winner in GVSU's 1-0 first round victory against SIU-Edwardsville. Carrier finished the year fourth in points with 14.

The Lakers finished the season with a school-best 19-3 (.864) record, including the school's first-ever GLIAC and Great Lakes Region Championships. The Lakers return eight starters for the 2006 season.
