Susan Christenson was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year.

Grand Valley State had four soccer student-athletes named to the 2004 All-GLIAC Team, including Susan Christenson who was named the GLIAC Freshman of the Year. The Lakers ended the season with a 15-5 record, which marks the second best record in school history.

Christenson, a Livonia, Mich. native, was a part of a GVSU defense that allowed just 17 goals and 142 shots on the season. She helped the Lakers allowed just 7.1 shots per game and 0.84 goals per game over the 2004 campaign. Christenson also tallied 15 shots and added three goals. Susan earned All-GLIAC Second Team honors.

Junior forward Mirela Tutundzic earned All-GLIAC First Team honors for the third consecutive season. Junior forward Jenny Swalec and sophomore midfielder Shannon Carrier both were named to the All-GLIAC Second Team for the second straight year.
