Lakers Fall 1-0 to Wisconsin-Parkside in Great Lakes Regional Action

Grand Valley State ended its season with a 1-0 loss to Wisconsin-Parkside in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Tournament. GVSU finished the season with the second best overall record (15-5) in school history. The Lakers were 17-2-2 last season and made it to the Regional final game before falling to Northern Kentucky, 4-3.

Wisconsin-Parkside's Laura Eide scored the match's lone goal at the 26:43 mark. The match was a defensive battle as Grand Valley tallied just four shots and Wisconsin-Parkside recorded only seven. Sophomore Erin Murphy tallied six saves for GVSU, while Abbigale Wild posted four for UWP.

Junior forward Mirela Tutundzic tallied a team-high 21 goals and eight assists on the season. Sophomore forward Shannon Carrier led the Lakers with 12 assists and added nine goals in the 2004 season.
