Freshman Katy Tafler was awarded the GLIAC Soccer Player of the Week honor today (Nov. 8). For Tafler it was her third selection of the year. Tafler leads the Lakers with 24 goals, 56 points and is second in assists. The Lakers head to Wilder, Ky. to take on SIUE in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 pm.
Grand Valley Freshman Katy Tafler tallied two goals and an assist in the Lakers GLIAC clinching victory over Ferris State. Tafler also had the game-winner, giving the Lakers their first-ever GLIAC championship. Katy finished the regular season with a single-season record 24 goals and just three points shy of the single-season points record. Tafler has scored a goal in 16 of the Lakers 19 matches and has notched two goals in a match seven times this season.
