Senior goalie Melissa Henson was named the Women's Soccer GLIAC Player of the Week. She tallied 26 saves in #7 Grand Valley State's 5-1 win over Findlay and 2-2 double overtime tie against #11 Ashland. Henson recorded a career and school-record 23 saves against the Eagles.

Melissa has only allowed 11 goals in 18 games (0.68 average) and has tallied 63 saves (.851%). Henson also has six shutouts on the season.

The Lakers have won a school-best 15 games this season, posting a 15-1-2 overall record and 5-0-2 GLIAC record. Grand Valley is ranked #7 in the lastest NSCAA national poll and is #1 in the Great Lakes Region.

Grand Valley will finish the regular season at home on Nov. 8, as the Lakers host archrival Ferris State at 2:00 p.m.
