Bay City, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference announced that Kristina Nasturzio was named the GLIAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 1-7. The senior keeper becomes the second straight Laker to earn the honor, as Irie Dennis won the award one week ago. The No. 1 Lakers have started the season at 4-0-0.
Nasturzio extended her shutout streak to 334:51 to start the season by stopping four shots in 180 minutes of action this weekend. She has not allowed a goal in the regular season since Oct. 18 of last season in a 2-1 (OT) win over Tiffin. Nasturzio has notched three shutouts in the first four matches of the season. She stopped a season-high three shots against Quincy (Ill.) in a 2-0 win.
