Hjorring, Denmark - Senior Ashley Elsass scored a goal and added an assist as Grand Valley State University defeated Fortuna's Reserve Team 3-1. It was the second victory for the No. 3 Lakers during their 10-day European trip, which ends with a game against Fortuna's First Team on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

In a steady downpour, the Lakers jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by senior Katy Tafler. Elsass notched her first point of the game by recording an assist on the goal. Elsass later scored the second goal of the match, and Grand Valley State's scoring was concluded with a goal by senior Joyce Rose on an assist from junior Irie Dennis. Sophomore Sam DeNio, as well as freshmen Chelsea Parise and Erin Rappleye, saw time in net for the Lakers.
