Grand Valley State will take on the defending national champions, the University of Tampa, on Friday, August 29. The Lakers and Spartans have met each other in the NCAA Semifinals in each of the last two years. In 2006, GVSU defeated UT by a final score of 2-0, while the Spartans came back with a 2-1 victory in 2007, ending the Lakers' perfect season. The game gets underway at 6 p.m. EST. Last season, Tampa goalkeeper Shannon Aitken was named the NSCAA Player of the Year, while GVSU's Katy Tafler was the Daktronics Player of the Year.
