Grand Valley State dropped a tough 2-1 overtime decision to GLIAC opponent Ashland University. The Lakers fall to 14-4 overall and 5-2 in GLIAC play, while Ashland is 15-1-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference. GVSU will play at Ferris State on Nov. 6 at noon.

Ashland scored the match's first goal at the 23:47 mark to take a 1-0 lead at halftime. Freshman Kristi Vandeberghe tied the match with a goal on a Jenny Swalec assist at the 70:56 mark. Ashland scored the game-winning goal in overtime to pick up the 2-1 win.

Erin Murphy recorded 10 saves, while allowing the two goals.
