Grand Valley State improved to 14-1-1 with a 5-0 win at Saginaw Valley State on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers will host St. Joseph's College in a makeup game on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 4:00 p.m.

GVSU took a 2-0 lead at halftime, recording two goals within less than three minutes. Sophomore Katy Tafler scored on an assist by Katie Ales at the 10:18 mark. Senior Erica Rose scored the Lakers second goal on an assist from Ashley Elsass at the 12:50 mark.

GVSU added three more goals in the second half to seal the 5-0 win. Ales scored a goal on a corner kick at the 60:58 mark and sophomore Joyce Rose found the back of the net at the 68:57 mark on a pass from Irie Dennis and Katy Tafler. Rose scored her second goal of the game at the 77:02 mark.

The Lakers outshot the Cardinals by a 21-6 margin. Sophomore Kristina Nasturzio tallied three saves in the match, while Stacy LaLond from Saginaw Valley recorded nine.
