Indianapolis, Ind. - The Grand Valley State Women's Soccer Team improved to 15-2 on the year with a 3-0 road victory against Indianapolis Wednesday night. The Lakers improved to 7-1 on the road and recorded their tenth shutout of the year. Grand Valley hosts Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 29) and Ferris State (Nov. 5) to finish the regular season.

Senior Jenny Swalec opened up the scoring at the 12 minute mark on a shot that beat the Greyhound keeper after a pass from Ashley Elsass.  Freshman Katy Tafler tallied goal number 20 on the year just five minutes after Swalec's goal.  Tafler is just three goals short of tying Senior Mirela Tutundzic's single-season goals scored record.  Junior Shannon Carrier added her third goal of th year at the 77 minute mark to extend the Laker lead to three.  Freshman Kristina Nasturzio tallied her tenth shutout of the year and lowered her goals against average to 0.27. 

Grand Valley has outscored their opponents 64-8 on the year for a better than three goals a game winning margin.  The Laker scoring has been evenly spread out between the first and second half as GVSU has posted 31 goals in the first half and 31 in the second.  The Lakers will host Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 29) and Ferris State (Nov. 5) to finish the regular season.
