Lakers Earn 6-2 Win Over Gannon
 

 
 
 

 
Andi Redmond scored the Lakers first goal and added an assist on the last goal of GVSU's 5-2 win over Gannon.

#4 Grand Valley won its school best 14th game after defeating Gannon University, 6-2. GVSU is now 14-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 in GLIAC action.

Andi Redmond scored on an Erica Rose assist at 42:57 to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead at the half. Shannon Carrier tallied the first goal of the second half on a pass that went from Mirela Tutundzic to Jennifer Swalec. Jennifer Junga added another goal from Swalec to Jordan Stevenson, and Erin Spika recorded the Lakers fourth goal on a pass from Shannon Carrier to Tutundzic. Tutundzic had the Lakers final goal on a Redmond to Swalec pass. Gannon then added two goals to make the final score, 5-2.

GVSU tallied 27 shots and 15 shots on goal and held Gannon to just seven shots and three shots on goal. Melissa Henson made one save in goal for the Lakers.

The Lakers will be on the road next weekend as the travel to Ohio for two key GLIAC matchups. On Saturday, Oct. 25, GVSU will face Findlay at 2:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 26 the Lakers will battle with #13 Ashland at 1:00 p.m.
