Grand Valley State's women's soccer team improved to 12-3 overall and 4-1 in GLIAC action with a 2-0 win over Gannon University on Sunday. The Lakers will play at St. Joseph's on Wednesday, Oct. 20th in a non-conference match-up.
GVSU scored its first goal at the 41:07 mark in the first half as sophomore midfielder Andi Redmond scored her second goal of the season on an assist by freshman defender Emily Berner. Junior forward Jaci Lange posted her fourth goal of the year at the 86:21 mark in the second half as sophomore midfielder Shannon Carrier tallied her team-high 10th assist of the season.
Grand Valley tallied 14 shots, including eight shots on goal, while Gannon posted just four shots and two shots on goal. Sophomore Erin Murphy recorded the shutout with two saves.
