Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley fell 1-0 at Ashland Sunday (Oct. 16) afternoon ending their winning streak at 11. The Eagles netted the lone goal 12 minutes into the second half and were able to keep the Lakers out of the net. It was the first time that Grand Valley has been shutout on the season.

The Lakers outshot the Eagles nine to eight on the afternoon but were never able to beat the Ashland keeper. Senior Mirela Tutundzic tallied three shots for Grand Valley to lead the team. Ashland's Erin Brockway beat freshman goalkeeper, Kristina Nasturzio, when a corner kick went through her hands. The goal was just the fourth given up on the year by Nasturzio (0.30 goals against average).

GVSU now heads to Indianapolis for a regional battle on October 19. The Lakers will return home to finish out the season against Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 29) and Ferris State (Nov. 5).
