Box Score

The Grand Valley State Women's Soccer team won their 10th straight game of this season. The Lakers cruised past St. Joseph's College, 8-0, here at the GVSU soccer field. The win gives the team a 13-1 record on the year.

Shannon Carrier was able to set the tone early as Mirela Tutundzic and Jordan Stevenson assisted Carrier's first of two goals in the game. Soon after that, Carrier, along with Kristin Leszczynski, aided Jenny Swalec to score a goal that gave the Lakers a quick 2-0 lead. Elizabeth Aceto would later cap off the first half with a late goal. The strong defensive play, that only allowed two shots on goal, helped the offense to attack, as Carrier (47:10), Swalec (54:41, 64:50), Tutundzic (59:14), and Aceto (87:03) would combine for 5 goals in the second half of the contest. Swalec finished the game with 3 goals and 2 assists. Tutundzic added a goal and 3 assists. Stevenson and Jenny Junga would both notch 3 assists.

The women's soccer team will play again in Allendale, Mich. against Mercyhurst on Oct. 18 at 2:00 PM.
