Grand Valley State tallied a 2-0 win over Northwood on Sunday. The Lakers improve to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in GLIAC play. GVSU will travel to Erie, Penn. for two more GLIAC contests next weekend. The Lakers will play Mercyhurst on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 1:00 p.m. and Gannon on Sunday, Oct. 17 at noon.

GVSU scored its first goal as junior forward Jenny Swalec kicked in her fourth goal of the season on a junior defender Rachel Bondy assist at the 17:30 mark in the first half. The Lakers added their second goal on a penalty kick by Mirela Tutundzic at the 21:16 mark. The goal was Tutundzic's 15th of the season.

Grand Valley tallied 27 shots, including 15 shots on goal, while Northwood was held to just one shot. The Lakers have not allowed a shot on goal in their last two matches.
