Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State dominated play the entire game en route to a 4-0 victory over Findlay Friday (Oct. 6) afternoon at the GVSU soccer field. GVSU improves to 11-1 overall and 4-1 in GLIAC action, while Findlay falls to 2-8-1 overall and 1-3 in the GLIAC.

Sophomore Katy Tafler scored the first of her three goals at the 9:09 mark of the opening half after taking a pass from senior Shannon Carrier. Tafler added goal number two at the 30:31 mark as Katie Johnson drew the assist. Goal three for Tafler was a line drive from 25 yards out that hit the back of the net in the 43rd minute. Katie Rozum was credited with the assist. Sophomore Joyce Rose scored the first goal of her career when she scored in unassisted fashion in the 53rd minute.

Kristina Nasturzio and Erin Murphy combined on the shutout as Findlay managed just one shot. GVSU tallied 36 shots, 15 of which were on goal.

Grand Valley State will host Ashland Sunday at 1 p.m. in a key GLIAC tilt.
