Tiffin, Ohio - Katy Tafler scored a goal with three minutes left in the match to give Grand Valley State a 1-0 victory over Tiffin on Sept. 28. The No. 1 Lakers secured their fifth straight shutout and ninth of the season with the win. GVSU (10-0, 5-0 GLIAC) will return home to take on Northwood on Friday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m.

The Lakers outshot the Dragons by an 14-3 margin, including an 8-1 edge in shots on goal. Kristina Nasturzio recorded one save for her eight shutout of the season. Neither team scored a goal until the 88th minute when Tafler took a feed from Kristin Eible and beat TU goalkeeper Abby Grieser to break the tie. Eible led the Lakers with a game-high five shots on goal, while Tafler took three of her own.

Grand Valley State has now won 18 straight conferences matches and 29 consecutive regular season games.
