Grand Valley State defeated St. Francis (IN), 3-0, on Tuesday. The Lakers improve to 8-1 on the season. GVSU is currently ranked #8 in the nation and #1 in the Great Lakes Regional poll.
GVSU scored all three of its goals in the first half. Mirela Tutundzic scored the Lakers first goal at 16:44, followed by a goal by Jenny Swalec on a Tutundzic assist at 23:56. Shannon Carrier scored GVSU's final goal at 31:28.
Tutundzic's goal marked her 10th on the season. She has scored in 23 of the Lakers past 27 games.
Grand Valley will not play again until they host Saginaw Valley on Oct. 4th at 2:00 p.m. and Lewis University on Oct. 5 at 3:00 p.m.
