Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley capped off a key regional weekend with a 1-0 victory over regional leader, Wisconsin-Parkside. Shannon Carrier scored the lone goal of the game just 10 minutes into the second half. Grand Valley held onto the lead through the next 35 minutes for the win. Kristina Nasturzio improved to 7-0 on the season turning away four Ranger shots.

Carrier's goal was the 23rd of her career and moved her into fourth place on the all-time goals scored list. The Lakers had a few more opportunities late in the match, but were unable to add an insurance goal. Grand Valley outshot Wisconsin-Parkside 11-6 during the physical contest that saw a total of 33 fouls called.

The #22 ranked Lakers handed the #5 ranked Rangers their second loss of the season and second in the past week. Lewis defeated Wisconsin-Parkside 2-1 this past Thursday. GVSU finished the weekend 2-0, defeating Lewis 6-1 on Saturday (Sept. 17). Grand Valley heads to West Virginia next weekend to take on West Virginia Wesleyan and Charleston, before opening up the GLIAC schedule on September 28.
