Wheeling, WV - Grand Valley wrapped up its weekend road trip with a 2-1 double overtime victory against Wheeling Jesuit in West Virginia.  Mirela Tutundzic scored at the 106 minute mark to give GVSU the victory.  Freshman Katy Tafler scored her eighth goal of the season.  The Lakers will host Lewis and Wisconsin-Parkside this upcoming weekend.

The Lakers opened up the scoring with a Katy Tafler goal just three minutes into the game.  Wheeling Jesuit evened up the score at one, with a penalty kick goal at the 39 minute mark.  The two teams battled back and forth through the next 50 minutes to finish regular time tied at one.  Neither team recorded a shot in the first overtime, while the Lakers stopped two Wheeling Jesuit corner kicks.  Tutundzic put home a Shannon Carrier cross six minutes into the second time to finish the game. 

The Lakers improve to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 on the road.  GVSU hosts Lewis (Sept. 17) and Wisconsin-Parkside (Sept. 18) this upcoming weekend in two regional matches.
