Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State opened the 2002 soccer campaign with an impressive 3-0 victory over the University of Indianapolis Friday afternoon at the GVSU Soccer Field. GVSU is 1-0, while UI falls to 0-1.

After a scoreless first half sophomore Elizabeth Aceto notched an unassisted goal at the 63:31 mark. Aceto struck again with a header at the 68:25 mark as freshmen Mirela Tutundzic and Jenny Junga each drew an assist. Tutundzic scored her first goal of the season on a breakaway at the 81:13 mark. Junior Jordan Stevenson notched the assist. Junior goalkeeper Melissa Henson notched the shutout win in goal with eight saves.

GVSU will host Chareston Saturday at 3 p.m.
