41 Lakers earn Excellence honors with a 3.5+ GPA

Kayla Kimble and Abbey Miller headline GVSU's first team selections
The Lakers had five All-Midwest Region First Team selections and a sixth was named to the Second Team
As a Senior (2013)
Named to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region first team, Daktronics All-America second team and All-GLIAC first team ... earned a Capital One Academic All-America second team plaudit ... GLIAC Fall Commissioner's Award recipient and All-Academic Excellence honoree ... saw action in all 25 games, bringing her career-total to 99 games played, which ranks tied for fourth in GVSU history and tied for sixth in NCAA Division II history ... made 22 starts ... part of a team that captured the program's third national championship ... helped the Laker defense match the Division II single-season record for shutouts (21), finish with the second-lowest goals-against average (0.160) and post the second-longest shutout streak (13) in Division II history ... dished out an assist in an 8-0 win over Malone (Oct. 4) ... handed out one helper in the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship against Quincy (Nov. 22).
As a Junior (2012)
Named to the All-GLIAC second team ... started all 25 games ... helped the back line record 10 straight shutouts and only allow two goals through Oct. 6 ... limited opponents to six shots per game ... owned five assists ... helped GVSU record the second-best goals-against average in the nation (0.429) ... notched the first against Minnesota Duluth (Sept. 7) ... tallied her second helper of the season at Malone (Sept. 28) ... had an assist in the win against Michigan Tech (Oct. 19) ... had back-to-back games with a helper at Notre Dame (Oct. 28) and in the GLIAC Quarterfinal against Northwood (Oct. 30).
As a Sophomore (2011)
Started 16 games, while playing 24 ... became a fresh pair of legs off the bench for the defense later in the season ... helped the backline to 16 shutouts, including 10 consecutive to close out GLIAC action ... had two shots in the season opener at Winona State (Sept. 2) ... helped the defense to three straight shutouts in September ... limited the Ohio Dominican (Oct. 2) and Tiffin (Oct. 21) offenses to just two shots ... notched an assist in the 3-0 win at Michigan Tech (Oct. 16) ... took five shots with four being on goal ... helped the defense to a full month of shutouts as eight opponents were held scoreless in October ... saw time in all five postseason contests.
As A Freshman (2010)
Started 18 of 25 matches, playing in 1,522 minutes ... selected as GLIAC Freshman of the Year ... notched her first collegiate point in the 3-0 win over Ashland (Sept. 26) ... played a season high 93 minutes in the 1-1 tie with Tiffin (Oct. 22) ... part of a backline that did not give up a goal at home and held opponents to five goals on the year.
Played the last four years at Grand Blanc High School ... as a freshman and sophomore was an All-District and second team All-Conference selection ... as a junior, was and All-Conference, All-District, All-Region, All-State honorable mentionand All-Academic selection ... was also selected as the team's most valuable player that season.
