Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State's lacrosse team, the Girls Lacrosse Association of Michigan (GLAM) and the Michigan Youth Lacrosse League (MIYLL) are teaming up to bring young girls and boys the opportunity to learn the basics in the game of lacrosse.
The free clinic will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at Grand Valley State's Laker Turf Building. Players should arrive and check in at 10 a.m. and the clinic begins at 10:30 a.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m.
During the clinic the girls and boys will be on the field to experience and learn the game of lacrosse in a fun, healthy and safe environment. They will be taught the basic skills of throwing, catching, ground balls, shooting, cradling and field positions by both the new varsity women's lacrosse program and the men's club lacrosse programs at GVSU.
GLAM and MIYLL will provide loaner equipment for the clinic. The kids will need a mouth guard, appropriate footwear and they need to bring water. We ask that you pre-register at www.glamlax.org.
