Aug. 18, 2010

Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State head women's lacrosse coach Alicia Groveston announced the signing of 20 student-athletes to attend and play lacrosse for the Lakers. The 2010 recruiting class is the first-ever for the newly added women's lacrosse program and consists of 20 players from Michigan and Ohio. The Lakers are slated to begin intercollegiate competition during the spring of 2012.

"We are excited to begin practice and embrace the fact that we are a completely new program," said Groveson. "We were able to bring in some outstanding players and it says a lot about the mental makeup of our young ladies knowing that the 2010-2011 year will be dedicated to nothing but practice."
