Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State head women's lacrosse coach, Alicia Groveston, will host several lacrosse clinics during the month of March for high school and middle school girls. The 2010 Girls High School preseason clinic will be held at the Laker Turf Building, while the middle school girls clinic will be held at the Woodland Sports Plex.
March 7, 2010 Girls High School Preseason Clinic
Session 1 - Grades 9 & 10 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. This session will feature lacrosse training and end with full field play. The clinic numbers will close at 45 players.
Session 2 - Grades 11 & 12 8:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
This session will feature lacrosse training and end with full field play. The clinic numbers will close at 45 players.
Cost is $35 per player and checks should be made out to GVSU Lacrosse.
March 21 & 28 Girls Middle School Lacrosse Clinics
Session 1 - Beginner Lacrosse Players 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Beginner: Any player that has played lacrosse for less than two years. The focus in these sessions will be consistency on passing and catching with both dominant hand and the non-dominant hand. In addition, the clinic will also cover cradling, groundballs and general attacking and defensive concepts.
Session 2 - Intermediate Lacrosse Players 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Intermediate: Any player that has played lacrosse for two years or more. The focus in these sessions will be passing and catching, building confidence to switch hands, shot placement and power. In addition, defensive communication and offensive movement will be covered.
Cost is $30 for one date and $50 for both dates for both beginner and intermediate.
